Birthday Boy
It's Louis' 1st birthday today. Admittedly we've not done much, considering it's only a few weeks since Christmas (is that all, it feels like months!) when he got loads of pressies I don't think he'll mind if we do pressies later in the year. Besides, we're having a bit of a celebration tomorrow, not much just me, Theo, Louis, my friend Tina and her 2, Jack and Hannah, who are about the same age as Theo and Louis.

Oi! Daaad, he's nicking my pressie.JPG)
We've had a good day today I think. Apart from grocery shopping this morning, Louis and I have been playing all day, just crawling around the floor after each other or using mummy as a climbing frame (all be it one that tickles you) He's also had another go at standing himself up unaided. He did it about a week ago (15th), all pleased with himself and the applause and praise he got from us he just did it all evening. Unfortunately he ended up with a bruise on his bottom and hasn't done it since, apart from today that is.

Darling Boy
Even on the worst days there is something to cheer you up.
This is Louis all smartened up for Mum's Funeral yesterday, isn't he gorgeous? It's hard to believe it's been a year already but it has and my boy is 1 today. More photos to follow.

It's sad that it takes a tragic event like this to bring everyone together but that's just how life is. Everyone has their own to get on with and finding the time to call on people and get together is not always easy.
Maybe we should make the effort, afterall, who knows if there will be a next time?
Last time I saw Mum we talked about the family tree that I've been working on, on and off, for the past 10 years. I asked her if she would mind if I interviewed her, ask her questions about her past, how she and Dad met, that sort of thing. I said I'd do it 'next time' I called over 'cause I wanted to record the conversation on my Ipod and I didn't have my microphone with me. We never got a 'next time'
This is my family, those who made it back to Sheila's after the funeral. Apologies to those of you in the photos, they're not exactly flattering, apologies to those of you not in the photos, you weren't intentionally missed. We weren't all at our best yesterday.

Rest In Peace Mum
I am sorry if this is the first you have heard but Mum died last Thursday. She was at home in her newly decorated living room, so at least she was somewhere she wanted to be rather than an impersonal hospital bed.
Mum has been ill for a long time but this was still unexpected. Needless to say, we are all struggling but surviving. The funeral is likely to be next week, not looking forward to that.

Domestic Goddess. Ha ha
I am sooo annoyed with myself.
Anyone who knows me will know I am no domestic Goddess rofl but today I had a bout of domesticity. I did two loads of washing, put dinner in the slow cooker and updated my shopping list for a recipie I wanted to make for pud tonight. All this before taking the boys to the local playgym at 10am. All good so far.
(OMG Theo just put smiley face stamps in Louis' hair!!!) :D:D:D
After playing at the playgym we went shopping, did the weekly shop plus the extras for this evenings gastronomical delights. We got home and packed away all the shopping, checked on the dinner in the slow cooker and made a start on making pud, bread pudding.
Now, bearing in mind I've never made it but I LOVE eating it (all you fellow WWers - I wasn't planning on eating any of it myself, honest!) I was following a recipie.
I thought I was doing sooo well until I asked Adam to come and check the oven to see if he thought it was cooked yet. He prodded it with a fork a few times then asked me how many eggs I put in it
I forgot to add the bl00dy eggs!! I am soo cross and dissappointed with myself. I KNEW the recipie called for eggs, I even bought extra because of it. I just forgot to put them in!
Sorry guys, just had to get that off my chest.
